“My role model for a long time was Jackie Onassis; I had read that she studied French literature at college, moved to Paris, and worked for Vogue France. At 15, I decided I was going to learn French, study French literature, move to Paris and do exactly the same. I did a year abroad, learned French, majored in French literature at Columbia University and bought myself a one-way ticket to Paris.
