From socialising to life saving: Sophie Burrell's transformation from party girl to paramedic
“It’s that super weird moment about being a paramedic. To come home at night and say, ‘I actually saved someone’s life today’ is a really good thing, and that it’s not always blood and guts and trauma”

I’m talking to paramedic Sophie Burrell as she sits in the front seat of her ambulance. Today, her and crew member Robin George are working at Cowdray Park in West Sussex and are on hand to provide any medical assistance, should it be needed, for any polo players who might fall foul of a mid-game mishap. The sun is shining, and it’s a perfect day for observing any combination of chukkas, backswings and knock-ins.
