Noella: “Working in Africa with Malaika [a community-driven transformation initiative] involves many challenges. There’s politics, lack of infrastructure and you need to be strong, passionate and focused. The first project we worked on was a school, then there were projects around the villages. We constructed 31 wells because of problems with water scarcity, which was impacting more than 35,000 people a year. So, we built manual wells and solar panel wells. Then, the second big project was the Educational Community Centre. We now have around 6,000 youth and adults studying there every year, offering various programmes for women and men.”
